Business Development Manager 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with customers, and developing strategic partnerships to drive the growth and success of the company. The Business Development Manager will work in collaboration with the sales team and other departments to ensure the delivery of the role’s objectives.

8BM aims to fill the institutional void in supply chain management using data analytics and technology. 8BM solves the above problem by linking cargo owners, truckers and cargo recipients in a streamlined logistical framework, thereby making moving goods more efficient and cost effective.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business development, sales or marketing in the logistics/haulage industry.

  • Proven track record of success in business development, with experience in identifying and closing new business opportunities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrative experience setting targets and providing team support to achieve sales objectives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.

  • Ability to work independently, with a proactive and results-driven approach.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • A good understanding of the logistics industry, including regulatory requirements, market trends and customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand the company's customer base.

  • Identify new business opportunities by researching industry trends, market analysis and competitor activity.

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities.

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and generate leads.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations and finance, to ensure the smooth delivery of services to customers.

  • Manage the sales team, setting targets and providing training and support to ensure sales objectives are met.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and partners, to ensure a strong network of contacts for the company.

  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management.

  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences to promote brand awareness and develop new business opportunities.
