Country Manager

We're in search of a dynamic Country Manager experienced in leading supply chain teams and delivering measurable results. Leveraging your experience in driving growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, you'll spearhead cross-functional teams to enhance productivity and revenue generation. Your responsibilities will include building strategic partnerships, optimizing budgets, and enhancing supply chain visibility. As a visionary leader, you'll champion innovation, foster continuous improvement, and uphold operational excellence across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

​As Country Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations in Nigeria. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve company objectives.

  • Managing day-to-day operations, including sales, marketing, finance, and human resources.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government agencies.

  • Identifying new market opportunities and developing strategies to capitalize on them.

  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

  • Leading and mentoring a team of talented professionals to achieve their full potential.

  • Representing the company at industry events and conferences.


Sales Responsibilities:

  • Drive acquisition of new clients on the 8BM Sales platform.

  • Enhance client retention rate by a minimum of 70% within 6 months

  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction by promptly addressing customer needs within 24 hours.

Commercial Duties:

  • Lead collections efforts, ensuring timely invoicing within 7 days post-trip completion.

  • Manage debt recovery and current receivables.

  • Maintain a cash-to-cash cycle of 30 days, including securing cash advances from customers.
     

Supply Management Objectives:

  • Expand and diversify 8BM's transporter base nationwide.

  • Increase the proportion of fleet owners on the platform compared to brokers/agents.

  • Elevate the number of one-month active partners on the platform.

  • Enhance partner retention rate

  • Establish dedicated truck contracts


Funding Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure funding for operational expansion and growth initiatives

  • Identify potential investors or financing opportunities to support company objectives.

Revitalizing 8BM's Nigeria Business:

  • Consider rebranding to rejuvenate the company's image.

  • Develop and execute a robust marketing strategy to promote the rebranded image and highlight strengths.

  • Conduct comprehensive performance assessments to identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement regular performance monitoring mechanisms and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Assess and develop the skills of the existing workforce; recruit new talent as needed.

  • Prioritize customer satisfaction through engagement and feedback mechanisms.

  • Explore opportunities for market expansion and diversification.

  • Evaluate financial structure and explore restructuring options or seek additional investment.

Requirements

  • MBA in Business Administration, management or related field.

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership position

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • A track record of driving business results and managing budgets effectively.

  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

  • A good knowledge base of businesses in Nigeria and the logistics industry.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an FMCG or logistics company, with a focus on business operations.
